She’s All Yours marked Next Best Thing’s return to the University Drama Studio and capped off a remarkable run of four plays in just eighteen months. Based on La Main Passe, one of Georges Feydeau’s lesser known farces, the production moved the action from the Belle Epoque to a stylised and chic 1950s setting. Zoe English’s glamourous adultress Francine and David Reid’s caddish Massenay led an accomplished company in a frantic chase through three houses, dodging her jealous husband (Dan Sumption) and his prim and nervous wife (an assured debut from Claire Boulter) - who has a lover of her own in reserve (Wallace Murray). Add to the mix Al Connell’s accident-prone lovestruck politician, Phil Ashton’s gun-toting alcoholic gambler, a jobsworth police inspector (Kieran Flynn), a sprinkling of useless servants (Pete Kennedy and Sophie Millward), the voice of God and a barking roadsweeper (Alex Gill) and you’ve got one of the most bizarre sex comedies ever written. It was NBT’s most ambitious play in over a decade and certainly one of the most warmly received. Production Notes for She's All Yours:
